Need a speed boost?

Hi all,

little hint:
if you have a Terratec EWS64XL soundcard (and perhaps a TNT2, as I do) and if you have got the feeling it could be faster gfx, then do the following:

Make sure: MyComputer/Control/Multimedia "Only use preferred..." where the preferred device is the EWS "Codec Play", NOT "Wave Play".
(The EWS then uses the "faster" low-quality Codec for the games)

Edit your unrealtournament.ini: At the audiosystem (Generic/Galaxy) just change "Use DirectSound" to FALSE!

It gave me a real nice speed boost, making UT become playable on my K6-III 400 and a TNT2 card in either D3D or OpenGL mode!

Sometimes it is not only the GFXcard that slows down... smile

I think this show the disadvantage of a semi-pro soundcard at gaming...
